Painter's block

Need I say more? All writers and artists suffer from creative block sometimes. It's especially well known amongst writers. Everything produced seems shallow, cliched, predictable, as though it's come from somewhere else rather than inside the artist. No fresh ideas come. Any attempt at starting produces junk.

It looks as though the painter in the picture was having this problem and lost his cool.
