The Night Monx

Like all Monxes, the Night Monx is an elusive creature and is rarely seen. They have one weakness in this regard though... they have special cells in their skin that are able to fluoresce with a dark yellow glow. This is very useful for when the Monx goes home to its burrow in the early hours of the morning and can't find that acorn that it stashed away earlier on. But the main purpose of this astonishing talent is that Night Monxes can use light to signal each other in the woods where they live. And it is this that's the weakness mentioned ealier for not only can other Monxes see the signals, but everyone else can too, especially when two Monxes stat gossiping about some other Monx, which they love to do. 
For this reason, Night Monxes are the most well studied of all the varieties of Monx and we have learned much about the species as a whole from the many hours spent by insect bite covered ecologists sitting in the woods in their hides.
